Balance in spirit, mind and body

The Care Ministry at Sierra Bible Church provides help and assistance by promoting a healthy balance in spirit, mind and body. The foundational truth for this ministry is found in

1 Thessalonians 5:23 .

“May your whole spirit, soul (mind) and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

There are several ‘satellite ministries’ under this covering:

Cards and Calls
Responses are made to written or called-in prayer requests.

Hope
Christian lay counselors are available for mentoring and discipling during difficult times in people’s lives.

TLC
Tender loving care is provided by a team of volunteers to people in care facilities or those who are unable to leave their home.

Meals
Meals are provided to those who have been sick or injured or after a hospital stay.

Hospital and home visits
A registered nurse makes hospital and home visits.

Well-check call list
People who live alone can participate in a phone chain - one call per day to check on the welfare of someone else.

Certification training for Christian Lay Counselors
A semester of classes sponsored by the American Association of Christian Counselors provides training for those desiring to serve in the Hope Ministry.
