Our Mission

His Kids Preschool is faith-based and exists to serve and strengthen families of the Reno/Sparks community. We desire to partner with parents by providing resources to support the early childhood development of young children. We understand and respect that ours is a supporting role to the parent, every child’s first and primary teacher. As a ministry of Sierra Bible Church, our goal is to provide a Christian atmosphere based on Scriptural principles, which form the foundation for academic excellence and character training.

Christian Education

Our approach to Christian education reflects years of research and classroom experience unique to children through age five. We provide an academically-based, developmentally-appropriate curriculum that is centered on Christian principles and themes. Our curriculum promotes early literacy utilizing theory and traditional methods based on the most current brain research specific to the teaching/learning process that occurs in early childhood. We provide enrichment in the areas of language development, dramatic play, science, sensory motor activities, foreign language, math using manipulatives, arts and crafts, music and movement, outdoor play, and areas of interest specific to the individual child. The teachers at His Kids Preschool receive ongoing training, keeping them abreast of current research and methodology in the field of early childhood education. Most importantly, children delight in the interactive activities provided, developing a love of learning that will last a lifetime!

Parent Involvement

We believe that parent involvement is the key component to the quality of each child’s preschool experience. Home, school and church comprise the child’s world; the integration and congruency of these three historical institutions contribute to the security and stability of children. Therefore, active and frequent parent participation is expected at His Kids Preschool. We encourage parents to donate not only supplies, but time and talents that enrich each child’s initial school experience. We thrive on the generosity and creativity of our parents.

Tuition and Fees

As a non-profit ministry of Sierra Bible church, tuition is the only means by which His Kids Preschool operates.

Tuition: Payments are charged monthly and are due in advance of the 1st of each month. Tuition is non-refundable.

Enrollment Fee: $50.00 non-refundable fee is due at time of registration and/or re-registration.

Vacation Credit: One week of tuition credit is available after six months of attendance. This credit does not accrue.

Absences: Our financial responsibilities are not relieved when children are absent due to illness or vacation; therefore, we do not grant refunds for days missed.

Sibling Discounts: a tuition discount of 15% for the second child and 20% for the third is available for families enrolling more than one child living in the same household who are not receiving any other tuition discounts.

Rene' Diek ~ Administrative Assistant

Hi, My name is Rene' and I am very excited to be part of the His Kids Preschool Team. I have had two home day care businesses here in Reno and I love to be with children. When I wasn't running a day care, I owned a bookkeeping business. I feel that working in this position will allow me to utilize my experience working with children as well as my organizational and administrative skills. I have an A.S. degree in Business and have taken many early childhood classes over the years. I enjoy scrapbooking and spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we have a wonderful daughter. We are members at Sierra Bible Church and have been attending here since 1993.

Lela Arney-Gonzales - Program Coordinator

My Name is Lela Arney-Gonzales. I have worked in childcare since 2002 and I absolutely LOVE this job. In addition to working at His Kids Preschool, I worked part-time as a missionary for Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). I have been employed by CEF for over two years but volunteered since 2005. I have taken several classes to learn how to teach the Bible to children effectively. I am also currently enrolled at TMCC working towards an A.A.S. in Preschool Administration. Working at a Christian Preschool has been the most amazing experience. I have been married to a great man, Albert, since 2006. Spending my days here at at His Kids Preschool has truly blessed my spirit! I am so thankful for a workplace that allows us, as staff, to freely pour God's word into these little open hearts...

Rachel Cho - Lead Teacher, Caterpillar Class

Hi! My name is Rachel. I joined the staff of His Kids Staff in January 2011. Teaching children about the love of Jesus brings much joy to my heart. I am a member of Sierra Bible Church.In my free time I enjoy skiing, camping, and traveling with my family and husband.

Imelda Kayondo-Radmall - Teacher

Hello! I was born in Uganda, Africa in 1979. I come from a very big family of 23 siblings. Being around different people in my life has made me confident, capable, and interested in combining my education and experience to facilitate your child's individual development. Each child has taught me that we are all different no matter who is taking care of us.

I love working with children of all ages as we do crafts, tell funny stories, read books, and enjoy all that the outdoors has to provide us! Working with children for 15 years has taught me to be flexible and appreciate the unique qualities the Early Childhood field can bring! Above all I am a mother. This is my greatest love. I feel being a mother is also what helps me be a better teacher!

Ashley Reha - Lead Teacher, Ladybug Class

My name is Ashley and I have been with His Kids Preschool since 2009. I enjoy working with the children. I have had a personal relationship with Christ for 17 years and enjoy sharing His love with our children here at His Kids. Besides being a teacher here at our school, I am a shepherd for our youth program at Sierra Bible. I believe that ministering to youth of all ages is what God has called me to do. In addition to seeking God's best for my own life, I enjoy helping others to do the same. I also enjoy reading, writing, skiing, hiking, bike riding, and jet skiing.

Bettie Mae Liedkie - PM Lead Teacher

Mrs. Liedkie brings a rich history of education and teaching to the classroom at His Kids Preschool.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Corban College (formerly Western Baptist College) in Salem, Oregon. She home-schooled her children at many educational levels and has taught in Christian schools for numerous years. Along with her formal teaching experience, she has been a volunteer teacher in various children’s programs for over twenty years. She cites loving and teaching children academically and spiritually as her motivation. Growing up in a Christian home in Mammoth Lakes, California, gave her an appreciation for creation, skiing, and hiking. Married for many years with four young adult children, she has lived in Nevada for over 20 years.

Amanda Brown - Teacher

Miss Amanda earned a music degree from Grays Harbor Community College and attended The Meadows Bible Institute.  Amanda’s ability to wear many hats is an asset to His Kids Preschool, where one of her three children attend. She and her husband Dave are active in several ministries at Sierra Bible Church, which is also where they were married.
