Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse and a ministry that involves packing shoeboxes with items such as toys, clothes, toiletries, and candy. These shoeboxes are then shipped all over the world to kids in need. We will be collecting items and money for shipping from October 21-November 19. Click here to find out more about Operation Christmas Child.

We will be having our annual Packing Party on Tuesday, November 6 from 6:30-8:00pm at the church. This is where we all come together to pack as many boxes as we can. The final numbers from last year were:
  • 445 from Sierra Bible Church
  • 136 from The King's Academy
  • 4,242 as a drop-off location
  • 13,844 for Northern Nevada/Eastern Sierras*
  • 642,834 for the West Coast (includes CA, NV, & HI)
  • 8,878,954 for the U.S.
  • 11,012,840 worldwide
This year, our goals are:
  • 700 boxes as a church
    • 400 at the Packing Party on Nov. 6
    • 150 from individuals/Small Groups
    • 150 from The King's Academy
  • 15,058 (inspired by 1 Corinthians 15:58) for Northern Nevada/Eastern Sierras
  • 675,000 for the West Coast (includes CA, NV, & HI)
  • 9.1 million for the U.S.
  • 11 million worldwide
Each box you make is a step toward all of those!

* For the second year in a row, Sierra Bible Church will be the 2018 Northern Nevada/Eastern Sierras Regional Collection Center for people in the community to bring their boxes! Collection Week is November 12-19. Click here for our drop-off center hours this year.
