If you missed Brett or would just like to hear his testimony again, here it is:
Reno, Nevada – Having the Aces Triple-A ball club in Reno is one of the most exciting events in recent history. With that addition comes some truly remarkable talent to our community.
It is with great pleasure that Sierra Bible Church is proud to welcome special guest speaker, Brett Butler, manager of the Reno Aces on Sunday August 22, 2010 at both 8:30am and 11am services. Brett Butler has had an amazing journey not only in the world of professional baseball, but in his personal life as well. Butler has had a stellar career, having played with the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and San Francisco Giants. He is 1 of only 26 players in Major League History to compile at least 500 stolen bases (558), and 2000 hits (2,375) for a career. Brett Butler has received numerous awards, including the Lou Gehrig Award, presented annually to the Major League Baseball Player who best exemplifies the giving character of Hall of Famer, Lou Gehrig and the "American Cancer Society Award "given annually by the President and Vice-President in a ceremony at the White House. Butler retired as an active player in 1997 with a batting average of .290, and is now manager of the Reno Aces Baseball Club, a Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
